10.48.47am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 3rd Jul 2009

Commenting on the deal announced by the Scottish Secretary today that guarantees work at Clyde shipyards for the next 15 years, Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats Tavish Scott MSP said:

“No one should be fooled by the commitment made by a Labour Government who won’t be in power in a year never mind the next fifteen.

“There is not a day that goes by without another policy u-turn from a Government in their last days in office.

“The highly skilled work force on the Clyde deserve better than last-gasp political posturing.”
